What was your knowledge of Salvador Dalí before taking on this role? Were you a fan of his work?
Prior to taking on the role of Salvador Dalí in the upcoming film, I wasn’t particularly familiar with his work. However, after watching some clips and reading up on his life and work, I’m excited to play him.
Dalí is one of my favorite artists, and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to explore his life and work in this film. He was a visionary artist who broke boundaries in many ways, and I can’t wait to see how audiences respond to our film when it premieres at TIFF next month.

Dalí’s life was full of eccentricity and excitement, and it was no surprise that his life story was the subject of a film. The filmmakers tried to stick as closely as possible to Dalí’s life and experiences, which made for a fascinating documentary. While some aspects may have been embellished for the film’s entertainment value, overall it was an interesting look at one of history’s most famous artists.
What attracted you to the character of James?
When I heard that James had his debut film premiere at TIFF, I was really excited. It’s such a massive deal to have your first film premiere at the festival, and it’s even more impressive when the film is as good as James seems to be. I’m lucky to see it in person, and I can’t wait to share my thoughts with you all once I’ve seen it. Congratulations, James!

Which style will your film debut in? Each has pros and cons, so it depends on what you want for your premiere. In competition, your film will be seen by a much wider audience and could potentially win awards. However, it can also be more stressful because you have to compete with all the other amazing movies. Out of competition is usually less stressful because people have already seen your movie, and there aren’t as many expectations attached to it. If you choose this route, make sure that your promo your movie well enough so that people will still want to see it after seeing all of the other great films at TIFF!
