He is the son of Robert Daniel Villency (born 1954), a furniture designer, and Michele Lee (née Hausman; born 1955), a former model and current CEO of the fashion label Villency Design Group. Villency has two older sisters, Vanessa (born in 1980) and Sasha (born in 1982). He is of Polish Jewish, Austrian Jewish, German Jewish, and Russian Jewish descent.
Villency was raised in a Jewish household and attended the Ethical Culture Fieldston School, a private college preparatory school in the Bronx. He studied at the University of Pennsylvania and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 2005.
